What the PID control delivers in practice: The microprocessor continuously compares actual tip temperature against the set value and corrects in real time. On a busy PCB assembly line where operators move between large ground planes and small SMD pads, this prevents the tip from drooping below reflow temperature on heavy joints or overshooting on light ones — both of which cause defects.

The backlit LCD shows actual tip temperature alongside the set value, so operators and supervisors can verify the station is performing to spec without interrupting the line.

Prevent Cold Solder Joints at the Source
